It thereby highlights a business\u2019s ability to sell products and services, but it does not reveal if a company is able to strike a profit.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">It is the company\u2019s revenue minus the <a class=\"glossary-only-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.xotels.com\/en\/glossary\/operating-costs\">cost of goods sold<\/a> (COGS). In this case it is also referred to as <a class=\"glossary-only-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.xotels.com\/en\/glossary\/gross-profit\">gross profit<\/a> and, when expressed as a percentage of revenue, gross <a class=\"glossary-only-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.xotels.com\/en\/glossary\/margin\">margin<\/a>. Gross Revenue can be found on the top line of a company\u2019s income statement.
