A Little Bit About Me…

I’m from Vigo, Galicia, Spain. Before I started working here, I got to know the company through their blog and reputation and I decided to apply since I felt that was the best option to develop myself in this field and learn from the best.

My background has been in hospitality, with a Bachelor Degree in Hospitality Management and Administration, at CHSG, and also obtained an Advanced Certificate in Revenue Management, eCornell. My professional experience has taken me internationally, where I have had several internships and jobs in different departments (F&B, Front Office, Reservations, and Revenue) in Tenerife, Eindhoven, Paris, Barcelona and Ibiza.

After joining Xotels initially as a Revenue Manager, I am currently leading a team covering hotels across Europe as a Senior Revenue Manager after being promoted last year.

Why Did You Join Xotels

Working here in a very fast-paced environment, you are responsible for your own portfolio but with much more flexibility than most of the revenue managers in big hotel groups, as you set up your priorities and action them immediately instead of having to go through many filters before.

Since I joined Xotels I managed properties across Europe, so having diversified projects makes your journey here much more enjoyable and challenging. As the company is growing fast, there’s always career opportunities and realistic possibilities of getting promoted.

A Little Bit About Me…

Hi, I am Filippo and I have been an employee at Xotels since July 2017. I am originally from Milan, Italy, and at the age of eighteen, I moved to Switzerland to begin my college studies at Les Roches International School of Business Management.

The Bachelor at Les Roches gave me the opportunity to face the first working experiences in Food & Beverage and Administration respectively at Belmond la Residencia (Mallorca) and Manoir de Lebioles (Belgium) as well as to improve my language skills.

Once graduated in Les Roches I moved to Barcelona in order to undertake an internship in Revenue Management at Xotels, where I was initially employed as Revenue Executive and then promoted to Revenue Manager.

Why Did I Join Xotels?

I have decided to join Xotels as thanks to a few Revenue Management courses I attended in Les Roches where I developed a passion for the field and despite my little experience, Xotels gave me the opportunity to learn throughout a 6 months internship in the company. Once my internship was finished, I was offered a position in the company, and out of what I could see in the previous month, I felt it would have been a great opportunity for me to learn and grow in every aspect of Revenue Management.

Working in Xotels continues to be a great experience as it allowed me to work with a portfolio of completely different properties in countries all over the world, and learn how to interact with different issues and revenue opportunities. In the past years, for instance, I had the chance to manage hotels from leisure to corporate and from seaside properties to ski resorts, as well as getting to know a considerable number of reservations and distribution systems.

Describe Your Working Environment

Personally, I find the working environment at Xotels quite empowering since, thanks to the division into teams, it combines certain decision-making freedom in the daily work, in combination with weekly catch ups with the respective supervisors. This guarantees the possibility to take responsibility and learn first-hand the approach to every single issue, allowing every member of the team to approach the tasks differently.

I would suggest coming to Xotels as Revenue Management is a job in constant development, hence for someone interested in this branch of Hotel Management, there are really few better places able to join such a number of experts in the field with whom it is possible to tap into the knowledge of each other on a regular basis.

A Little Bit About Me…

Hi, my name is Joanne, I am 22 years old and I was born in the Netherlands! I have been studying at the Hotel Management School Maastricht for the past four years. Previously, I have worked in several restaurants, did an operational F&B internship at The Ritz-Carlton, Dubai and studied abroad in Madrid for five months.

Why Did I Join Xotels?

When getting to the final stage of the bachelor, every student will have to apply for a management internship.  I have always loved the operational side of a hotel, but I really wanted to gain more knowledge about the financial aspect of the industry as well. Instead of applying for revenue management within a hotel, I decided to join Xotels.

Why Should You Apply for An Internship With Xotels?

Apart from my favorite morning walks to work through the sunny streets of Barcelona, at Xotels, I feel very valued as an intern. Mainly due to the hours the revenue managers invest in my development, the responsibilities I get, and the friendly atmosphere of the office. If you are looking for an internship in a multicultural environment, with a young and knowledgeable team and where no day will be the same? Xotels is the place to be!

I personally get a huge thrill out of reading these stories from our team members. It literally gives me goosebumps.

We have been investing a lot of time and resources over the last couple of years on the transformation of our team and culture. As a result, the team has defined the following values for Xotels; Adaptability, Creativity, Commitment, Enthusiasm, Trust. And I would say Empowerment is also a big thing at Xotels.

We have an inspiring leadership team organizing social and sportive events to create real bonding. I am really proud to see the evolution we have gone through since we started in 2006.
