CTD – Closed to Departure
What is the meaning / definition of CTD in the hospitality industry?
CTD stands for Closed to Departure. It is a specific set of days guests cannot make their reservation for with this date as check-out.
In contrary to Closed to Arrival, they can book the rooms before and stay through the dates but they cannot make reservation that their stay would end on one of those very specific โclose to departureโ dates. * This is yield practice has originated from the airlines, and really should not be applied in hotels. It would close you out for sales even to someone wanting to stay for a long time but arriving on a seamingly wrong date. This is not considered a good practice in hotel revenue management.
